About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Consultant to join our Transport, Infrastructure, and Mobility team at Ecorys, focusing on European transport policy and decarbonisation strategies. As a recognised expert in the field, you will participate in policy-oriented projects for EU institutions, such as the European Commission, European Parliament, and European Investment Bank.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Lead and contribute to projects requiring meticulous economic and policy analysis, targeting decarbonisation of transport and mobility sectors within the EU framework.
  2. Coordinate the development of proposals and secure new projects by leveraging your industry knowledge and professional network.
  3. Manage project implementation with a focus on sustainable transport policies and practices.
  4. Engage with European institutions, maintaining and establishing relationships that enhance Ecorys' influence and effectiveness in policy-making circles.
  5. Act as the main contact for clients, effectively managing stakeholder communications and partnerships.
  6. Take ownership of and provide high-quality written inputs to reports, presentations, and other research and consultancy outputs.
  7. Build strong working relationships with colleagues from other sectors and partner organisations.
  8. Mentor and develop team members to enhance their professional skills and contribute to the team's overall expertise.

Requirements

  1. MSc or PhD in Economics or another relevant field.
  2. Knowledge of European research and innovation policy.
  3. Proven experience in policy evaluation, impact assessment, and managing complex projects in the transport or infrastructure sectors.
  4. Experience in managing and writing winning proposals, preferably within the procurement processes of EU institutions.
  5. Proven project management experience with the ability to manage multiple timelines effectively.
  6. Highly motivated with strong communication skills.
  7. Relevant network in Brussels and across Europe.
  8. Fluent in English - additional European languages would be beneficial.
  9. Proficiency in economic analytical tools and techniques, especially those related to policy assessment.
  10. Experience with complex stakeholder engagement would be an asset.
