About the Role

The Safety Systems Architect is a critical position that requires a deep understanding of gas safety systems and their implementation. The ideal candidate will have 5-10 years of experience in a Gas Safety role or 3 years in an ASML Architectural Role, with a Bachelor or Master education level.

Key Responsibilities

As a Safety Systems Architect, you will be responsible for translating top-level safety requirements into specific safety requirements for various system users. This involves communication and negotiation with functional teams to ensure designs meet required safety standards. Additionally, you will bring the system into operation, perform safety verification tests, and align end-users on design changes.

Main Activities

Your primary responsibilities include:

  • Understanding media functionality at end-user locations inside lithography tools
  • Performing analyses and calculations to predict architecture or subsystem functionality (risk assessments, safety levels)
  • Developing group competence through literature research, experimental testing, or supervision of external research partners
  • Negotiating, defining, documenting, and presenting specifications for architectures or subsystems
  • Translating specifications to generate safety systems, including electronics and software, and acting as a counterpart during the detailed design process
  • Troubleshooting issues related to Safety architecture on systems or subsystems
  • Providing support to end-users during troubleshooting
  • Communicating GS knowledge and requirements effectively to a wider audience
  • Creating Gas Safety requirements based on competence guidelines and translating these requirements to specific system requirements
  • Bonus skills: Performing SIL calculations and understanding Atex/IEC safety standards
