As an Infrastructure System Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the technical infrastructure that supports our customer projects. This includes the provision and support of IT infrastructures in national and international customer projects for sustainable local public transport.

• Provision and support of IT infrastructures in customer projects
• Act as an integrator between specialist departments within INIT and form the fundamental interface between hardware and software
• Coordinate with technical project teams and customers to provide required resources (on-premise, virtual, and in the cloud)
• Monitor and troubleshoot IT infrastructure issues, including 2nd and 3rd level error analysis and resolution
• Collaborate with the development department to resolve technical issues and improve infrastructure performance

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• Completed apprenticeship, further training, or similar technical degree with a focus on IT
• Good skills in dealing with hardware, network, and storage technologies
• Knowledge of operating system administration (Microsoft and Linux) and basics in virtualized environments (VMware, Hyper-V) and data security
• Experience with cloud technologies is ideal
• Excellent communication skills in German and English, with the ability to show initiative and work independently
