HEAD OF HUMAN RESOURCES JOB PURPOSE :
The Head of Human Resources is a dual-role position to oversee
all aspects of Human Resources ("HR") practice. For HR role, it will be on a secondment basis.
• Support business needs and support company strategy and
objectives.
• Ensure smooth HR operations.
• Promote corporate values and enable business success through
recruitment, performance management, training & development,
employment cycle changes, talent management.
The HR Manager is also part of the leadership team .
BUSINESS AND PERFORMANCE DIMENSION:

PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES :
1. Planning, implementing, and evaluating employee relations and human
resources policies, programs, and practices.
2. Maintain the work structure by updating job requirements and job
descriptions for all positions.
3. Supports organization staff by establishing a recruiting, testing, and
interviewing program; counseling managers on candidate selection;
conducting and analyzing exit interviews; and recommending changes.
4. Prepares employees for assignments by establishing and conducting
orientation and training programs.
5. Manages a pay plan by conducting periodic pay surveys; scheduling and
conducting job evaluations; preparing pay budgets; monitoring and
scheduling individual pay actions; and recommending, planning, and
implementing pay structure revisions.
6. Ensures planning, monitoring, and appraisal of employee work results ,
to coach and discipline employees; hearing and resolving employee
grievances; and counseling employees and supervisors.
7. Implements employee benefits programs and informs employees of
benefits by studying and assessing benefit needs and trends;
recommending benefit programs to management; directing the
processing of benefit claims; obtaining and evaluating benefit contract
bids; awarding benefit contracts; and designing and conducting
educational programs on benefit programs.
8. Ensures legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable
human resource federal and state requirements, conducting
investigations, maintaining records, and representing the organization
at hearings.
9. Enforces management guidelines by preparing, updating, and
recommending human resource policies and procedures.
10. Retains historical human resource records by designing a filing and
retrieval system and keeping past and current records.
11. Cultivates professional and technical knowledge by attending
educational workshops, reviewing professional publications,
establishing personal networks, and participating in professional
societies.
12. Completes human resource operational requirements by scheduling and
assigning employees and following up on work results.
13. Manages human resource staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and
training employees.
14. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
KEY CHALLENGES 1. Managing employees in a Unionized environment, periodic Collective
Agreement Negotiation, and other related grievances.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED :
1. Degree in HR or any other relevant discipline.
2. Experience in ER/IR, leading Union consultation and negotiation.
3. Good knowledge of Malaysian employment/labor laws.
4. Excellent communication and people skill, and ability to influence
stakeholders.
5. Proactive and ability to work independently with excellent problemsolving skill.
6. High degree of personal integrity.
7. Resilient, Curious and Results Oriented.
8. Fast learner and adaptable.
9. Desire to work as a team with a result driven approach.
10. Ability to handle diverse responsibilities.
