What can you expect

The hotel has two bars, one being the lobby level "The Lobby Bar" and the Twenty Third Bar. Between 16:00 to 02:00 are both hotel and external guests welcome to enjoy a broad assortment of cocktails and champagnes, all whilst viewing a panoramic skyline.

As a Bartender, you are responsible for preparing both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in the Lobby and Twenty Third Bar. Your main tasks will be:

Suggesting new and creative ideas based on recipes which will surprise guests; Welcoming guests warmly and attending to Dutch and international guests in the bar; Taking orders, mixing and serving alcoholic and non- alcoholic beverages to our guests; Following the guidelines set in terms of safety and hygiene; Maintain inventory control of all wines, beers, champagnes and ingredients used.

Don't worry you will not be working alone. Besides working in your own team, you will also work with other departments in the hotel. Only by working together can we achieve the best results. You will work rotating shifts throughout a 7-day workweek, with times between 15:00 to 02:00. You will work 5 days a week, 7.6 hours per day. You are also available to work on public holidays

What do we offer?

Contract: 1 year with the possibility of extending. We want you to stay Salary: Group 4. Click for the salary scale  Bonus: 1 week salary when the hotel reaches the budgeted GOP (Gross Operating Profit) level and you get a minimum total score of successful in your yearend evaluation 8% holiday allowance (pro rata); 25 vacation days per year (pro rata). Compensation for National Holidays. Horeca CAO applies; General Pension Scheme of Hospitality and Catering; General Survivors pension; Attractive family and friends rates on overnight stays at Hotel Okura Amsterdam; Once a year staff discount in one of the restaurants (50%); Staff discount in our restaurants (20%); Contribution to travel expenses from 10 km (one way); Study budget of €1.000; After obtaining the probationary period, you will receive an overnight stay with breakfast as a gift (2 people), so that you can experience the hotel as a guest

What are we asking?

Of course, we are first and foremost interested in you and what we as an employer can do for you to provide a great workplace. Nevertheless we expect from you that:

Relevant work experience (1 -2 years) in a similar function and/or industry is an advantage; You have broad knowledge of beverages and the preparation of cocktails is an advantage; You have ideas for innovative beverage combinations; You are presentable and good with other people. Furthermore, flexible in terms of the shifts; You live in Amsterdam or surrounding area; As part of our pre – employment screening process, we require a minimum of two positive references.
