Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Engineer with strong expertise in COBOL development and other mainframe technologies. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of IBM mainframe z/OS, DB2, and AVIVA, along with a structured programming background. This role requires a detail-oriented professional who can work efficiently in large-scale, complex environments while adhering to Agile/Scrum methodologies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance COBOL-based applications in a mainframe environment.
  • Work with DB2 databases, ensuring efficient data processing and integration.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot complex mainframe applications to optimize performance and stability.
  • Participate in large-scale projects, ensuring high-quality deliverables.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams using Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Work within complex mainframe environments, ensuring efficient system performance.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation for code, processes, and system configurations.
Required Skills & Experience:
  • 8+ years of experience as a COBOL Developer.
  • Expertise in IBM mainframe z/OS, COBOL, DB2, and AVIVA.
  • Strong understanding of structured programming and mainframe technologies.
  • Experience working with large-scale, complex mainframe environments.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to learn and manage complex systems.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
  • Attention to detail, accuracy, and a problem-solving mindset.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in modernizing mainframe applications.
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices within a mainframe environment.
  • Exposure to automation and process optimization in mainframe systems.
