As a FEC Data Scientist in Area Sanctions Detection, you develop data-driven models and tools, enhancing the prevention of sanction violations and driving meaningful innovative solutions together with 8 other data scientists.

**You and your job**
Implementing sanctions legislation cleverly is crucial to making them effective. As a bank, we play an important role in ensuring the aims of international restrictions are met. Transactions are filtered in real time to prevent breaches. Given the dynamic nature of the sanctions environment, with new types of restrictions being introduced frequently, our approach must constantly evolve. Whilst ensuring effective screening, we also strive to minimize the impact on the normal use of our products, avoiding unnecessary delays of permitted transactions. As a FEC Data Scientist in our Sanctions Tech Innovation team, you will develop AI models and create other data-driven tools to enhance the detection of sanctions violations and improve the effectiveness of screening.

**Practical Examples**
- Develop models and other data-driven tools from start to end: data preprocessing, development of model, documenting development process and results, implementing the solution
- Align with stakeholders on their needs and requirements and present and explain results to stakeholders with a non-technical background on a regular basis
- Align with technical solution teams on the implementation of the solution to make sure the solution is fit for implementation
- Identify and implement opportunities to further professionalize the team. Think of setting up a reusable code library, creating a repository template or creating a ready to use analysis table

**You and your talent**
- A MSc degree in a quantitative study like Econometrics, Data Science, Mathematics or Physics
- 3+ years experience for a medior position (scale 9), 6+ years experience for a senior position (scale 10), preferably at a bank or other financial institution
- Experience with Python and PySpark (Azure Databricks experience is a plus)

**This is what we offer you**
- A 36-hour work week with a salary in scale 9 (€ 4292 - € 5811) or scale 10 (€ 5115 - € 6900) depending on your experience.
