**_Selva - "Another name for the Amazon, the lungs of the earth"_** We are looking for a passionate sommelier-in-learning to join our Selva team. As a Sommelier intern, you will be involved in every aspect of the wine service, ranging from the development of the wine list to storytelling for our guests at the table. Together with the restaurant Sommelier, the Head Chef, and his/her culinary team, you will be participating in creating the right food and wine pairings, which always happens behind the scenes Are you a passionate wine lover in training to become a Sommelier and you are looking for a challenging job opportunity? Inspired by tropical Amazon, the flavors of Latin America, and co-created by nhow Amsterdam, Selva restaurant is located on the 24th floor of nhow hotel in Amsterdam RAI. The Sonora cocktail bar and the Saffron meeting spaces complement this amazing rooftop restaurant with 140 seats and 360° views of the city of Amsterdam. The wine team is small but mighty, just the Head Sommelier and you. The Sonora bar, and the Selva service and kitchen teams count 30+ team members. The team is very engaged, spirited, and very international. - You are a hospitality student with passion for wine and you like to develop in that field. - You have already worked or had an internship in a high-class restaurant. - Completed sommelier course or wine certification is a strong plus. - Passion for what you want to do. - You are pleasant, positive thinker with open-minded attitude. **What are you going to do?** At Selva, we will literally lift our guests; we will bring them to a higher place to escape the busy streets of Amsterdam and let them emerge in a colorful and lush environment of the Amazons. Therefore, it is important that our restaurant brigade facilitates a place for them to connect and interact with others whilst enjoying food, drinks, and views that stimulate their taste buds, eyes, and ears. The desire to come back soon **You will also be involved in**: - Participate in the development of the wine list, including label selections, costing/ margins management (based on your interests and school level). - Mise-en-place and delivery of wine service to the guests every day. - Management and maintenance of cellar, glassware, wine tools and accessories. - Help with training the service team. - Working with the culinary team to create new pairing options. - Learning about wine storing, stock, and inventory keeping. - Keeping beverage stocks under control. **What's in it for you?** - Internship allowance of 750 euro - Discounts up to 25% for your friends & family; - As an employee of nhow Amsterdam RAI, you can make free use of our hotel gym with a view - From short (training) courses to internal trainings, NH University is your internal training institute.
