As an Associate Director Maritime Structures, you are responsible for a global project portfolio of maritime infrastructure design projects.
You will lead a team of 20 professionals, all based in the Netherlands, in the field of:
- Project and technical management of maritime design projects
- Costing and Contract specifications
- Inspections, contract management and construction supervision
**What you will do**:
You will work closely with the two Associate Directors of adjacent teams of geotechnical and structural engineers and BIM modellers. You will also have a strong collaboration with our international offices such as the UK and Vietnam.
The projects in your team cover the whole range of maritime design projects, including quay walls, jetties, terminals, breakwaters, dredging and land reclamation. Clients range from private port authorities to international financiers. While the team has a strong base and workload in the Netherlands, most of the projects are international.
The focus of your role will be to:
- Oversee projects and manage your team’s project portfolio with corresponding risks. Serve as project manager or director on these projects where relevant.
- Take operational lead within the group by owning business development, guide and authorize proposals and fostering collaboration with other teams.
- Work with the team to ensure workload is well distributed, balancing personal development goals with project needs.
- Ensure the growth and vitality of the team. Proactively recruit and retain talent and stimulate a culture of continuous learning and development.
- Maintain high quality and continuous improvement of our services.

Your team is part of the Advisory Group Maritime & Renewables. This is a diverse team of 180 colleagues, celebrating differences in cultural background with over 25 nationalities. This group works on integrated maritime and renewable energy projects, such as smart port development, offshore wind and alternative fuels. In your role, you work closely with the 7 other Associate Directors in the Management Team.

You have a proven track record of leading teams on international projects and possess strong organizational skills. You can manage a project portfolio in complex maritime engineering projects.
Furthermore you:
- Hold a MSc or BSc degree, preferably in fields related to civil or maritime engineering
- Have a minimum of 10 years’ experience in managing design projects.
- Are fluent in English. Dutch language capabilities is an advantage.
- Are able and willing to work in our offices in Delft and Amersfoort and travel abroad from time to time.
