Performance Manager

Well now you can; we’re on the lookout for a **Performance Manager** to help bring the “scary fun” to life at the **Amsterdam Dungeons** and the ‘famous fun’ at **Madame Tussauds Amsterdam**

As Performance Manager you will lead a team of Dungeon Dwellers to ensure the efficient operational and artistic running of the performance department, maintaining exceptionally high theatrical standards. You will write and continue to revise scripts for existing and non-existing features within the attractions, bringing shows such as The Flying Dutchman, Witch Burning and Torture Chamber to life so that our guests are truly immersed and can see, hear, feel and (ahem) smell the chillingly amusing characters of the “bad old days”. At Madame Tussauds Amsterdam you will make sure the performers make our guests feel like the rising star they are. You will make sure that your team bring the glamorous feeling to life on the catwalk.

You’ll be coaching the cast through regular workshops in areas such as character development, physical and vocal performance, interaction, scripting and devising new ideas, themes, and issues.

To continue towards the maintaining of high standards you will be liaising with the other creators and departments to ensure that costume and props remain historically accurate, never breaking the Dungeons magic, you will also deliver ongoing training to allow team members to reach their full potential and highlighting any performance issues if needed. You will lead a team of internal and external professionals to bring their best everyday.

As with any role, health and safety is paramount, and you will ensure that policies are adhered to by all Dungeon Dwellers as well as having an active responsibility in incident management duties. Wouldn’t want anyone to get lost amongst the Gallows field, fire and treachery, would we?

This role is permanent, working 5 days out of 7. Our attractions are open 7 days a week and so flexibility will be needed, including weekends, public holidays and peak seasons.

Qualifications & Experience:
We are looking for an individual who can help cause outrage and inspire a team of Actors to bring our characters to life through strong, disciplined performances, using their full range of vocal skills and acting ability. You will be a personality-driven performer who inspires revulsion and able to work closely with the scripts, develop new themes of entertainment for the future of the brand and motivate your team to deliver consistent high standards of performance.

Your passion and view on theatre is what drives the team to give their best. From a vision on directing to a point of view on theming; you know how to bring a story to life.

You must have energy and enthusiasm, the ability to communicate and motivate others and be a credible and star performer yourself You will also need to have a commercial awareness of the business.

Management experience within a performance role in a leisure or similar business is essential as is proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate, manage performance and drive results within your teams. You will also have excellent communication and organisational skills, enjoy challenging situations and be able to create a positive and innovative working atmosphere.
