**Where will you be working?**
In the role of Line Cook, you will be directly accountable to the **Sous Chef or Head Chef**.
**What will you do?**
As the Line Cook, you are responsible for:
- Preparing dishes according to the recipes.
- Monitoring and controlling the quality, doneness, and taste and ensuring the right external presentation
- Providing input for the composition and changes of the menus and methods
- Supervise the work of the apprentice and assistant cooks and give them the necessary instructions and guidance
- Supporting the Sous Chef and Head Chef
- Cleaning the work environment/kitchen appliances
- Solving minor malfunctions independently or reporting larger problems to the manager
- Carrying out preparatory work, such as washing, cutting, (pre)cooking, mixing, and stirring
- Assessing the quality of products/ingredients to be used (freshness, shelf life, etc.), and preparing tools
- Making orders by performing à la minute cooking tasks, portioning, and garnishing
- Enforcing health and safety, hygiene, and safety regulations (HACCP, personal hygiene, protective equipment, etc.)
- Supervising, stimulating, and coaching all other kitchen staff and students.
- Supervising the method of execution within the kitchen
- Monitoring costs of his/her department in the kitchen (purchasing, waste, and personnel costs) and adjusting deviations
- Consultation with the Sous Chef and Head Chef about the purchase of all ingredients and the quality of the final product
- Make proposals for the preparation of the menu, considering the target group, business concept, trends in the market, impact, season, availability, and kitchen actions to be performed

You also bring:
- A completed chef training level 2 or equivalent level of thinking.
- A (extensive) work experience/demonstrable knowledge of basic cooking techniques.
- Flexible employability, evenings/weekends/holidays.
- Able to stand and walk for long periods during an 8-hour shift.
- Effort in lifting, moving pans, raw materials, etc.
- Able to work under pressure.
- Walking and standing, and mostly site-specific work.
- Heat (heat radiation) when working on cooking appliances.
- Sometimes there is a workload during peaks in the work supply.
- Risk of injury from handling knives, operating kitchen appliances, burning hot parts, and slipping on (wet/greasy) floor.

Pay: €1.500,00 - €1.650,00 per month
