Computer Science Data Science Internship: Data Model Migration Project

**Introduction**:
If you’re a master student interested in data and analytics, consider an internship at Business Intelligence & Analytics (BI&A) team at ASML. You’ll help to migrate an essential financial data model about the usage of parts from Alteryx (using SAP exports) to modern data analytics platforms such as HANA Cloud Lab or Databricks.

**Your assignment**:
You will take ownership of key aspects of the migration project, working under the guidance of our experienced team members. Your responsibilities will involve collaborating with stakeholders in ASML EUV and DUV, analyzing complex Alteryx data logic, and reconstructing it in HANA Lab (HANA, SQL) or Databricks (Python, SQL). Additionally, you will gain insight into ASMLs field operations, financial processes and parts usage information for ASMLs Lithography systems from all over the world. You will streamline the data model by removing unnecessary logic based on dashboard usage. Throughout this project, you will gain hands-on experience with modern analytics platforms and deepen your understanding of financial data processes in a leading technology company.

Key responsibilities include:

- Design and execute the migration of a complex and extensive Alteryx data model to HANA Lab or Databricks.
- Work with stakeholders to identify actively used dashboard sections and link them to Alteryx functional blocks, migrating only essential components for a streamlined data model.
- Translate data model logic into Python or SQL for implementation in the new environment.
- Participate in progress meetings and presentations to share updates with the broader team.
- Interfacing with our DevOps team to make sure all necessary data sources are available in the new environment.
- Deliver a fully functional data model migrated to HANA Lab or SSA Databricks, accompanied by clear documentation outlining logic changes and improvements.

This is a master internship for 4 to 6 months, for 2 to 5 days per week (50% on-site). The start date of this internship is as soon as possible.

**Your profile**:
To be a fit for this internship, you:

- Have a Master's background in a quantitative component (such as Computer Science, Engineering, Business Management, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Physics, Econometrics).
- Have affinity with analytics and data modeling.
- Have experience in Python, SQL for data processing, and affinity with Alteryx and Spotfire is a plus.
- Have strong problem-solving capabilities, attention to detail and have the ability to work independently.
- Comfortable analyzing complex data logic and translating it into modern analytics environments.

**Other requirements you need to meet**
- You are enrolled at an educational institute for the entire duration of the internship;
- You need to be located in the Netherlands to be perform your internship. In case you ‘re currently living/studying outside of the Netherlands, your CV/motivation letter includes the willingness to relocate.
- If you are a non-EU citizen, studying in the Netherlands, your university is willing to sign the documents relevant for doing an internship (i.e., Nuffic agreement).
