Medical Engagement Manager

**Summary**:
In line with overall product strategy, the Medical Engagement Manager is responsible for supporting the design, implementation and execution of Medical Affairs plans for assigned Therapy Area, providing scientific information, helping design & organise clinical studies, building educational dialogue with KOLs and regulatory stakeholders.

**About the Role**:
This is a Customer-Facing role with a diverse array of responsibilities, including but not limited to:

- Ensure that activities are in the best interest of patients
- Provide support when a specific medical need is identified
- Ensure appropriate identification/mapping of Medical Experts (MEs) and Key Accounts
- Identify opportunities to involve MEs
- Develop and execute ME & key stakeholder engagement and activity plans
- Align these plans with the country strategy
- Collect impactful, actionable insights from MEs
- Inform and shape medical strategy
- Raise awareness of Novartis’ brands, programs, and disease areas through publications, scientific presentations, projects, and trainings
- Act as a company ambassador in external scientific programs and congresses
- Utilize Omnichannel where possible
- Co-develop local (brand) strategic and tactical planning and execution.
- Optimize trial execution
- Provide scientific educational support to potential and actual study sites in collaboration with clinical operations
- Facilitate Investigator Initiated Trial (IIT), Post Trial Access (PTA), and Managed Access Programs (MAP) and other research projects processes as appropriate
- Identify joint value creation opportunities with key scientific leaders and other partners in the healthcare system, including patient associations
- Prepare, drive, and execute local Medical Affairs plans
- Ensure that Target Patient Population Outcomes (TPOs) are updated, relevant, and tracked with appropriate regional and global support

Major accountabilities include:

- Ensure responses are high quality and timely, in accordance with applicable standards
- Establish standard response documents for frequently asked questions
- Provide medical/scientific input for clinical trial and research-related activities, including initiation and oversight of clinical studies within the therapeutic area
- Support country strategy for Non-Interventional Studies and Investigator Initiated Trial activities
- Coordinate review and approval of medical materials and locally developed promotional materials
- Ensure that global or regional medical materials for stakeholder engagement and events are tailored to local needs and reviewed/approved as per local/P3 guidelines
- Share insights with cross-functional groups including Pharmacovigilance, Regulatory affairs, Market Access, QA, Commercial teams, Brand teams, and others
- Identify and assess risks
- Plan mitigation strategies and implement and monitor appropriate internal controls within the area of responsibilities
- Ensure technical complaints, adverse events, and special case scenarios related to Novartis products are reported within 24 hours of receipt
- Manage the distribution of marketing samples where applicable
