ExCulture is looking for a Lab Technician who is detail-oriented, flexible and enthusiastic to play a key role in our microbial bioprocess operations. You will be responsible for supporting our microbial bioprocess operations, mainly for the downstream processing activities. You will collaborate closely with our R&D team to optimise processes and troubleshoot any issues that arise. Your ability to adapt to iterations, implement clear documentation and thrive in a fast-paced environment is essential.

**Key responsibilities**:

- Support the Bioprocess Engineer in executing laboratory experiments related to downstream microbial bioprocessing and analytics.
- Collect and analyse data on product yield, purity and process efficiency.
- Collaborate with the R&D team to develop and implement process improvements.
- Maintain accurate records of experimental procedures, results and observations.
- Ability to provide concise information on the protocols and results towards business presentations.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and laboratory protocols, including proper data management and documentation within the Electronic Lab Notebook (ELN) environment.
- Assist in the maintenance, cleaning, calibration, and troubleshooting of downstream equipment, including filtration systems, chromatography columns and centrifuges.
- Scaling up DSP methods from lab to pilot scale.

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor’s or HBO degree in life science & technology, microbiology, biotechnology, biochemical/ bioprocess engineering, or a related field.
- Three (3) years of hands-on industry experience working in a laboratory setting with bioreactor operations.
- Familiarity with microbial physiology and fermentation technologies, and downstream chemical processing methods.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, fluent in English.
- Willingness to learn new techniques and adapt to changing project needs.

**Additional requirements**:

- Professional in English

- Working in an onsite setting

**Additional preferred skills and experience**:

- Experience with mixed culture systems.
- Knowledge of analytical techniques such as spectrometry, HPLC and UV-Vis.
- Experience with scale-up and technology transfer processes.
- Knowledge of quality control procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Familiarity with statistical analysis software.
