You ensure that our Power BI platform runs securely, efficiently, and at scale, enabling data professionals across the company to create high-quality insights. In this role, you will also collaborate closely with our vibrant Power BI community, coordinating with highly skilled and enthusiastic Power BI developers to share best practices, drive innovation, and continuously enhance our data capabilities.Why you choose PostNL as a Power BI Engineer Visible Work:You ensure that PostNL’s Power BI environment runs smoothly, securely, and efficiently. Challenge:You will work on a rapidly evolving platform transitioning from Power BI Report Server to Power BI Service, and from AWS to Databricks and SAP Datasphere. You help shape how Power BI interacts with modern data layers and introduce new ways of working such as CI/CD pipelines, version control, governance, and scalable architectures. Collaboration:You act as a bridge between Power BI developers, data engineers, analytics engineers, architects, solution consultants, and business stakeholders. You help define best practices, align on architecture, and support users in developing effective dashboards and semantic models. The team meets every Wednesday for collaboration and good coffee.This is your Role As a Power BI Engineer, you set up, manage, and improve PostNL’s Power BI Service platform within the Data CoE. You ensure the environment is stable, secure, and well-governed, while keeping it aligned with our modern data stack. You configure and maintain workspaces, gateways, capacities, and data connections, and you monitor the performance of (bi) datasets, models, and reports to keep the platform running efficiently.You help define how Power BI integrates with Databricks and the underlying data layers, making sure that architecture, modeling, and governance principles are followed. You make sure we connect the PowerBI Workspaces and User Management to our internal Data portal. You support developers and business users by answering technical questions, advising best practices, and helping them troubleshoot dashboards and data models. You also maintain clear documentation and ensure that all Power BI content meets PostNL’s security and quality standards.In addition, you collaborate with Data Analists, BI Developers, analytics and data engineers to build reusable semantic models and contribute ideas to improve workflows, governance, and cost efficiency. You stay up to date with developments in Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, Azure, and Databricks, and assess how new features can strengthen the platform.
