AIT is a global freight forwarding and logistics company headquartered in Chicago. The Supervisor Ocean is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day performance and development and training of the Ocean freight team, management and development of the ocean services, and acting as a point of direction and support to the team. Additionally, this role involves managing relationships with service providers and partners, being the liaison for vendors to manage shipment bookings, ensuring timely transfers from logistics providers' warehouses and onward to final destinations, as appropriate, as well as support local management and sales in maintaining the customer relationships, providing support in tenders, cost calculations, onboarding of new clients and sales.
Provide practical support to the team (Export/Import) to include cover during periods of absence.
You divide the workload within the team.
Support the team in case of any issues arising and assist in escalations.
Organize monthly team meeting and responsible for follow up action points. Monthly financial team reports.
Act as the primary point of contact for key accounts.
3-5 years experience in operating as a team leader or in a senior role
Attention to detail and monitor all ethics within the team
Fluent oral and written English is a must, Dutch is beneficial
