Assignment Overview

As a Domain Architect, you will play a key role in shaping our client's strategic direction for platform and infrastructure architecture. You will operate within the Architecture Strategy & Standards domain and ensure clear technical guidelines, well-supported architectural decisions, and a future-proof technology landscape. You will work closely with the Lead Domain Architect, peer domain architects, platform owners, security teams, and engineering leads.

Key Responsibilities

Architecture Strategy & Standards


• Develop and maintain architecture artifacts such as technical standards, guidelines, patterns, and principles.


• Translate strategic objectives into practical and actionable architectural direction.


• Align platform strategy with enterprise architecture and technology roadmaps.


• Monitor technology trends and assess their relevance for the bank's hybrid platform environment.

Platform Strategy & Roadmapping


• Support platform teams in designing services and capabilities that meet business and regulatory requirements.


• Ensure platform designs comply with enterprise principles, security standards, and regulatory expectations.

Architecture Governance & Control


• Review solution designs to ensure adherence to architecture standards and platform strategy.


• Identify and assess architecture deviations, evaluate risks, and recommend mitigation or remediation measures.


• Contribute to design authority processes and architecture governance forums.

Collaboration & Thought Leadership


• Act as a trusted sparring partner to the Lead Domain Architect, contributing to strategic planning and decision-making.


• Collaborate with domain architects, security teams, platform owners, and engineering leads to strengthen architectural coherence.


• Facilitate knowledge sharing and promote a culture of architectural excellence.

Expected Results (SMART)


• Approved Solution Designs enabling rapid onboarding of developer teams.


• Approved technical standards and ongoing support for DevOps teams during implementation.


• Expert guidance on resolving architectural deviations and risk-related issues.

Candidate Profile

Knowledge & Skills

You are a strong communicator who can drive decision-making and balance abstract architectural discussions with concrete, actionable direction.

You bring:


• Strong conceptual thinking combined with practical knowledge of architecture standards.


• Experience with public and private cloud environments such as Azure and VMware, as well as mainframe technologies.


• Solid understanding of security concepts related to networking (Cisco, Cisco ACI, Azure).


• Experience with the design and interoperability of overlays such as Cisco ACI, VMware NSX-T, and Calico (routing, firewalls, load balancers).


• Excellent documentation skills using MS Office, PowerPoint, TOGAF, and ArchiMate (network diagrams, test plans/results, configuration guides, design documentation).


• Familiarity with DevOps and Agile ways of working.


• Experience with scripting languages or automation tools is an advantage. Competencies
