Product Manager Surfactants

We are currently looking for a strategically sound and commercially driven:

Product Manager Surfactants

In this role you will manage the assigned product portfolio with respect to profit & loss performance and execute the business strategy to ensure profitability and volume targets are reached. You will be part of a bigger commercial department with colleagues in various countries in Europe. The position is in Rotterdam, and you will be reporting to the Business Unit Head Derivatives & Surfactants.

Main responsibilities:

• Execute the business plan for the assigned portfolio as agreed with the General Manager
• Set sales price levels in agreement with management and communicate to account managers
• Buy and sell products within the assigned product portfolio
• Report daily positions, traded volumes, realised and unrealised financial results, update product(s) portfolio and any market changes to management
• Follow raw material markets, currency, and political changes
• Develop new markets and inform management on market developments
• Understand future market trends and inform management on potential strategy in capturing trends
• Maintain relationship with suppliers and tolling partners
• Maintain commercial relationships with key account(s) and identify potential synergy
• Optimise product mix and profitability
• Ensure agreed volumes and pricing of goods delivered to customers are in line with frame contracts
• Contribute to logistics and planning for assigned product portfolio
• Monitor call-offs and payments
• Monitor service levels/customer complaints/non-conformances
• Participate on request in projects such as tolling, expansions, mergers, acquisitions, divestures etc. for the assigned product portfolio
• Ensure conformity to company policies and certification schemes in place.

We are looking for a candidate with:

• Bachelor's or master's degree in economics, Business Administration, International Business, Chemical Engineering, Agricultural Science or another related field
• Excellent verbal and written communication in English and other languages are highly advantageous
• A minimum of 5 years B2B experience in surfactants product management
• Management experience
• In depth knowledge of raw materials, commodities, and trading according to the Wilmar standard, as well as knowledge of the European and global surfactant industry
• Knowledge of applications such as home & personal care, industrial
• Well-developed skills in SAP and MS Office (especially Excel), demand planning and CRM software
