NLC Health Ventures ("NLC Group" or "NLC") is a world leading healthtech/biotech innovation platform with a venture building arm and a fund management business (pre-seed, seed, Series A, up to Series B-C) operating across Europe and North-America, but all working out of our office in Amsterdam with approx. 40 FTE in total. NLC actively manages four investment funds, with over EUR 45mn raised for these funds to date, which invest mainly in the ventures coming supported by NLC's venture building arm (investing pre-seed starting capital up to seed stage and series A-C). We are currently fundraising for the 5th fund and anticipate to launch a new fund every 3 years.

Your MissionAs our new Financial and HR administrator/bookkeeper, you'll be the trusted backbone of NLC's in-house bookkeeping activities (multiple entities) including oversight of payrolling (outsourced) and related HR administration. You'll focus on the meticulous execution to ensure rigor and accuracy, playing a critical part in safeguarding our operations and supporting our continued success and expansion.
What You'll Do - Bookkeeping & Financial Administration- Maintain accurate and timely bookkeeping for multiple entities (Exact).
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring proper coding and approvals.
- Reconcile bank, credit card, and other financial accounts on a regular schedule.
- Prepare month-end closing journal entries, including accruals and adjustments.
- Ensure proper documentation and filing of invoices, receipts, and financial records.
- Track intercompany transactions and reconcile across entities.
- Maintain fixed asset registers and depreciation schedules.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and management reports.
- Support external accountants/auditors with clean, well-organized financial data.
- Serve as the internal liaison to our payroll provider in the Netherlands and our global employment platform for employees living abroad (WorkMotion).
- Review and validate payroll inputs (hours, salary changes, bonuses, benefits deductions).
- Verify payroll output for accuracy before final approval.
- Manage payroll calendars, deadlines, and compliance requirements.
- Address payroll-related queries from employees.
- Maintain up-to-date employee records
- HR documentation, implementation and maintenance of HRIS (HiBOB).
- Support onboarding and offboarding (contracts, setups, checklists, access management).
- Prepare employment-related documentation (salary letters, contract addendums, etc.).
- Support compliance with labor laws and HR policies across jurisdictions.
- Assist leadership with HR data and analytics as needed (headcount, turnover, etc.).
You're a motivated, detail-oriented professional eager to take responsibility (with senior back-up) to design your own role, improve processes and while making a meaningful impact.
- Professional experience: You bring a certain level of experience as a financial administrator / bookkeeper, ideally in a small to medium size firm and ideally with experience on HR admin/operations activities.
- Tech-Savvy & Proactive: You have experience with, or a strong willingness to master, tools like Exact, HiBOB, Excel and PowerBI.
- Self-Sufficient & Motivated: You are a natural self-starter who thrives with minimal oversight, taking initiative and ownership of your responsibilities (and is willing to learn the elements one is not mastering yet).
- Adaptable & Resilient: You can readily adapt to changing circumstances and priorities.
- Excellent Communicator: You can effectively communicate (Dutch proficiency preferred considering non-native Dutch nature of team members and the ability to communicate with Dutch Authorities).
- A Learning Role: This is a full-time, central position within NLC's finance team, giving you the chance to build hands-on experience in bookkeeping, financial administration, accounting, and HR administration.
