Senior Leak Detection Technician / Team Lead (Walking Surveys) – Netherlands

We are looking for a highly experienced
Leak Detection Technician
to lead and support walking leak surveys in the Dutch gas distribution network. This is a
hands-on field role
— ideal for someone with strong leak detection experience who enjoys working outdoors and guiding less experienced technicians on-site.  This is an ideal role for someone who wants to develop further to take on team responsibility in the medium term.

What you will do

  • Perform
    walking leak detection surveys
    on low-, medium-, and high-pressure gas networks
  • Use state-of-the-art handheld gas detectors to locate, confirm, and assess leaks
  • Support, guide, and coach junior technicians during surveys
  • Ensure correct safety practices and procedures are always followed
  • Document findings accurately and communicate results to supervisors and customers
  • Work closely with network operators and their field teams

What you bring

  • Extensive field experience in
    walking gas leak detection
  • All required Dutch certifications (e.g., VIAG, BEW, G-exams, or equivalent) for conducting surveys on the Gas Distribution Grid
  • A
    valid VP-VIAG
    (Vakbekwaam Persoon – Gas) certificate is mandatory
  • Having a WV-VIAG (Werkverantwoordelijke – Gas) certificate is beneficial
  • Clean Driving Licence record
  • Strong understanding of safety rules and gas network procedures
  • Ability to train and support other technicians in the field
  • Good physical condition and willingness to work outdoors year-round
  • Interest in learning and applying disruptive technologies
  • Solid Dutch and English communication skills
