Salary:
Up to €95,000 + package (depending on experience)

About the Project

We are delivering a major hyperscale data centre development in Amsterdam, forming part of a wider portfolio of large-scale projects across Europe. Our organisation provides full turnkey data centre solutions - from design through construction - with in-house capability spanning civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, electrical, and commissioning disciplines.

With multiple large-scale data centre builds currently underway across seven European countries, we are expanding our on-site engineering team and now seeking an experienced
Senior Mechanical Engineer
.

Key Responsibilities

Project & Client Coordination

  • Act as the main point of contact for relevant client-side communications (client identity confidential).
  • Coordinate mechanical works with contractors and ensure seamless integration of services.
  • Prepare method statements and risk assessments for mechanical construction activities.
  • Ensure all mechanical/HVAC deliverables meet project specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements.
  • Work with the project team to sequence pipework installation in line with programme milestones.

Commercial & Procurement Support

  • Assess project details at handover from estimating and support commercial validation.
  • Manage technical procurement of mechanical equipment, specialist subcontractors, and key suppliers.
  • Assist with documenting and pricing scope changes.
  • Support preparation of monthly valuations and the final account.

Technical Delivery & Site Management

  • Oversee the successful delivery of all mechanical systems.
  • Coordinate site activities to ensure work progresses in accordance with the schedule.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with other contractors and stakeholders on site.
  • Ensure all mechanical works comply with internal standards, industry regulations, and project governance requirements.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a mechanical engineering role.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working on large-scale construction or MEP projects.
  • Knowledge of mechanical systems associated with data centre environments is highly advantageous.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and external contractors.
