Are you passionate about contracting, category management, and ensuring smooth procurement processes? Then we are looking for you Chevron Oronite Technology B.V., located in Rotterdam, is seeking an experienced procurement/supply chain professional to join their team as a Category Specialist.

Chevron, one of the world's largest integrated energy companies, does business around the world. Oronite, a Chevron company, is a major player in the development, production and marketing of additives that enhance the performance of fuels and lubricants. Oronite supplies innovative products that are used in many ocean vessels, cars, and trucks.

Chevron Oronite Technology B.V. in the Netherlands is one of Oronite's four technology centers and provides support for product development and technical services in the field of lubricants additives for the marine and automotive industries.  

About the role

As a Category Specialist you will develop and implement category strategies and support category management for the Oronite R&D Plant in the Netherlands. You will be working on sourcing strategies, and category analysis. You will monitor market dynamics, identify total cost of ownership (TCO) and value chain opportunities. You will lead and support sourcing activities, negotiations, supplier performance management activities, and support the implementation of International Master Agreements and stakeholder communications.  Finally, you will also be responsible for the contracting process for assigned categories in alignment with Chevron policies and procedures.

As our new Category Specialist, you will partner with regional and global procurement teams to align and share best practices. 

Your key responsibilities will be to:

• Develop three-year category, supplier and sourcing strategies that meet business goals and objectives.

• Build effective supplier relationships.

• Establish a strong network and foster collaboration with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and team members.

• Create sourcing strategies, perform category analysis, monitor market dynamics, and identify total cost of ownership (TCO) and value chain opportunities.

• Lead and support sourcing activities, negotiations, and supplier performance management.

• Execute the contracting process for assigned categories in alignment with Chevron policies and procedures.

• Support the delivery of target savings and other value chain benefits within the assigned categories.

Your qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in procurement, supplier development, or supply chain.

• Proven success in cost reduction and implementing contracting and category strategies.

• A "can-do" attitude when facing adverse situations.

• Sharp commercial acumen across strategic, operational, and financial perspectives.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills as a bridge between suppliers, internal and external customers, and potentially competitors.

• Robust analytical skills, highly organized, and results-oriented.

• Willingness to travel domestically and within Europe to ensure successful strategy implementation.

• Business fluency in Dutch and English.

• Bachelor's degree or higher.
