Manager Accounting

As Head of Accounting & Reporting, you'll play a pivotal role in steering the financial direction of the Essent Group. You'll be part of the Management Team Risk, Accounting, Controlling and ESG (RAC), responsible for the central finance functions of our Group – a driven and collaborative team. You'll lead a team of 6 accounting and controlling experts driving robust accounting processes, compliance, advice on complex accounting topics and prepare the external report for Essent.

Your team also acts as financial business partner for our central entities, including headquarter and IT, ensuring that financial performance is aligned with strategic goals and operational needs.

Only together can we take the next step in energy. As a Head of Accounting & Reporting, you are the expert in your field and you:

• Lead and develop a high-performing team of experts by fostering a culture of ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Through effective coaching and support, you empower your team to deliver measurable results and drive success.
• Prepare and coordinate the closing activities, including Essent's external reporting that you present to the board of Essent.
• As subject matter expert advice, support and challenge on special accounting topics. You represent accounting in cross-functional initiatives and projects, including M&A.
• Oversee group-wide accounting policies and processes to ensure compliance with IFRS and Dutch Gaap.
• Collaborate with key stakeholders—such as Accounting teams across Essent's business units, as well as Controlling, Risk, and Tax—to ensure integrated and effective financial steering.
• Act as a trusted advisor to the CFO and Senior Financial Management on (technical) accounting matters, directly contributing to informed decision-making and business impact.
• Are the primary contact for our external auditor and play a crucial role in ensuring transparency and compliance.
  
  With your controlling colleagues in your team, ensure financial transparency and performance tracking for the central entities HQ and IT.

• A Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field; registered accountant (or similar) qualification.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and financial reporting standards.
• Proven leadership experience in accounting or finance roles, ideally in a larger organization, with ability to steer cross-functionally.
• Experience in business partnering and controlling is a plus, preferably in the energy or infrastructure sector.
• Fluent in English and Dutch.
