Commercial Legal Counsel

We will offer you a broad commercial legal counsel role where your main objective will be to advise FrieslandCampina's commercial & procurement organisation with reviewing, drafting and negotiating different types of contracts and tender processes. In addition, you will be supporting the Marketing department with assessment of marketing / sustainability claims on advertisement and packaging, and dealing with complaints at e.g. the Dutch Advertising Code Committee (Nederlandse Reclame Code Commissie).

You will take part in strategic business projects, develop (legal tech & AI) tools to allow your business partners to work autonomously, and will be involved in day-to-day legal matters, etc.

What We Ask

• Qualified lawyer (civil law)
• 3–4 years' experience in business law (law firm and/or in-house)
• FMCG experience and knowledge of marketing claims is a plus
• Proactive, flexible and commercially minded, with the ability to work independently
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills at all seniority levels
• Confident, curious and eager to learn
• Fluent in English and Dutch, resident in the Netherlands and within commuting distance of Amersfoort

• Salary between €4,450 and €6,000 per month, depending on knowledge and experience (full-time);
• Full-time workweek of 38 hours, 5% year-end bonus, 10% bonus, and a pension;
• Flexible working hours, hybrid working, plus either a train pass or a travel allowance of €0.23 per km (up to 30 km one way).
• Card for train travel or €0.23 per km travel allowance (max 30 km one way).
• 200 hours of annual leave, the option to buy or sell 40 extra hours, and 8% holiday allowance;

Vacancy Description

• Review, draft and negotiate commercial contracts such as agency, distribution, sales & supply, external contract manufacturing etc. with parties active within the operating companies Velder, Consumer Dairy Netherlands and certain parts of the business groups Europe & Retail Americas;
• Support the senior counsel Procurement with reviewing, drafting and negotiating different types of procurement contracts (MarCom, manufacturing, services, commodities etc);
• Develop and to maintain strong relationships with your business partners (management, sales, marketing, procurement, supply chain, regulatory affairs, etc.);
• Provide interactive trainings to your business partners;
• Monitor contract lifecycle management in Salesforce;
• Contribute to further digitalise the legal infrastructure within FrieslandCampina.

Team Details
You are part of FrieslandCampina's Corporate Legal, Ethics & Compliance team based in Amersfoort, the Netherlands consists of approx. 30 members (spread over six teams) which on its turn is part of FrieslandCampina's Global Legal, Ethics & Compliance team. The Global Legal, Ethics & Compliance team consists of approx. 70 legal professionals, based in 15 countries, from Europe to Asia.

We are searching for an energetic legal counsel to join our Commercial Legal team, an inclusive team which consists of five (5) legal professionals. In this role, you will be based in Amersfoort, the Netherlands, and you will report into the Director Legal Commercial.
