Role Overview:

The Mechanical Engineer for Off-Site MEP and Plantroom Assembly is responsible for overseeing the assembly and integration of mechanical systems within prefabricated MEP modules and plantrooms. This role ensures the proper installation, testing, and quality control of mechanical components, including pipework, pumps, heat exchangers, and associated equipment, in compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and safety regulations.

Hours | Monday-Thursday 7.30am-5pm and Friday 7.30am-3pm Saturdays 7.30am-3pm (depending on rotation / perm resident)

Salary | Competitive Depending on Experience

Responsible to | Site Manager & Project Manager

What You'll be Doing

The role involves overseeing the assembly and installation of mechanical systems within plantrooms and modular MEP units, ensuring all components—including piping, valves, pumps, chillers, HVAC systems, and heat exchangers—are aligned with design drawings, specifications, and manufacturer guidelines. It includes conducting detailed inspections, dimensional checks, pressure testing, and snag management using FieldView, while ensuring all systems are labelled correctly and meet required quality standards. The position requires close collaboration with design, fabrication, electrical, and plumbing teams to ensure seamless integration and to provide feedback for continuous improvement. Responsibilities also include supporting pre-commissioning and client sign-off processes, maintaining comprehensive QA/QC documentation, providing progress updates, and assisting site supervisors to ensure safe, high-quality installations in line with project sequencing and RAMS requirements.
