We are a growing team looking for a Senior ML Engineer in the sennAI department to help us on our journey to revolutionize road freight logistics. The role is located in our Amsterdam office.
WHAT YOU WILL DO …
We are seeking a Senior ML Engineer to develop and optimize intelligent pricing systems that drive revenue growth and competitive advantage. As a Senior ML Engineer, you'll build sophisticated algorithms and models that operate at scale in production environments. This includes designing experimentation frameworks and implementing advanced ML techniques for supply/demand forecasting and price optimization. You'll collaborate closely with the sennAI team, which is responsible for building in-house, custom AI/ML solutions.
In this role, you will …
Design, develop, and maintain production-grade pricing algorithms.Build and optimize machine learning models for supply/demand forecasting price elasticity estimation, and customer lifetime value prediction. Develop online learning systems such as multi-armed bandits to dynamically optimize pricing strategies. Develop sophisticated experimentation and causal inference methodologies to measure the impact of pricing strategies. Collaborate with business stakeholders, product managers, and other engineering teams to translate commercial strategies into scalable solutions. Implement robust monitoring and alerting systems to ensure pricing models perform as expected and identify opportunities for optimization. Develop attribution models to measure the revenue impact of pricing decisions and algorithm improvements. Stay current with pricing research, economic modelling techniques, and advanced ML methodologies relevant to pricing optimization.   WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR …
Hands-on experience in leading technical development of AI/ML systems for pricing or related business use cases in production environments. Deep understanding of machine learning and statistical modelling concepts. Proficiency in Python and ML frameworks (scikit-learn, XGBoost, PyTorch, JAX). Strong foundation in experimental design, statistical testing, and decision-making under uncertainty. Problem-solving mindset with focus on reliability, scalability, and rapid iteration. Excellent communication skills, with a comfort level in explaining technical trade-offs to diverse audiences ranging from developers to stakeholders.
Nice to have
Familiarity with MLOps tools and practices, such as containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), model versioning systems, and infrastructure automation (e.g., Terraform). A background in advanced data engineering concepts such as real-time streaming, large-scale ETL workflows, or AI-specific data pipelines. Experience deploying models at scale and creating fault-tolerant architectures. Experience with reinforcement learning applications in pricing or revenue optimization. Knowledge of game theory, auction mechanisms, or marketplace dynamics.
