What are you going to do?

As our next Workshop Mechanic, you will be responsible for changing the configuration of the engines by building in customer-specific options. You will work both independently and in close collaboration with various internal stakeholders such as Quality Assurance, Engineering, and Service Engineers to ensure every engine meets Yanmar's quality standards.

You will also support Application Engineering by preparing and testing engines for evaluation in the workshop. Your hands-on expertise will help strengthen our technical operations and support our global network of distributors and OEM customers.

Your main tasks and responsibilities:

  • Change standard engine configurations in ordered customer required specifications
  • Support Application Engineering with test and evaluation engines in the workshop or field
  • Investigate service complaints and returned engines, and advise on next steps
  • Assist in pre- and post-sales actions, new product launches, and special delivery programs
  • Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with colleagues regarding complaints, orders, and non-conformities
  • Stay up to date with developments in your technical area and contribute insights for departmental improvement
  • Execute all activities according to Yanmar's Management System

Who are we looking for?

The ideal Workshop Mechanic has a strong background in mechanical or automotive engineering, with experience maintaining and repairing engines. You are hands-on, precise, and motivated to deliver the best technical performance. You enjoy collaborating with others but can also take ownership of your tasks independently.

The ideal candidate:

  • Minimum MBO 2 or equivalent in a technical field (Mechanical, Automotive, or similar)
  • At least 2–3 years of experience in maintenance or repair of engines
  • Strong mechanical and technical understanding of diesel engines
  • Experience with diagnostic tools and service documentation
  • Self-motivated, structured, and detail-oriented
  • Good communication skills and team spirit
  • Fluent in English, both spoken and written. Dutch is a plus.

Applicants must currently reside in the Netherlands and possess eligibility to work in the country, including having a valid work permit or passport.

Work location

Your regular workplace is our workshop in Almere, the Netherlands. Occasional travel to customer sites or field tests may be required.
