About the role:

We are seeking a
Finance & Accounting Assistant
who is detail-oriented, passionate about numbers, curious about how international business works, and eager to grow their career. As part of a small, agile team, you'll receive comprehensive training and gain hands-on exposure to every aspect of the financial cycle. You'll have the opportunity to become a SAP key user, developing practical experience in real-world accounting operations. Working within an international environment, you'll also gain valuable insight into cross-border business and accounting practices as part of a publicly listed group.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cost and budget control: Review invoices and track expenses
  • Prepare daily journal entries and maintain
  • accurate financial records in compliance with IFRS/Dutch GAAP/UK GAAP
  • Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual closings and financial reporting
  • Support daily cash flow management, payment processing, and bank reconciliations
  • Collaborate with internal operations teams to track import/export activities for VAT purposes
  • Support tax filings, including VAT, EC Sales, CIT, and Transfer Pricing in the Netherlands and the UK
  • Assist with both internal and external audits, ensuring compliance as part of a public listed group
  • Contribute to internal control projects and implement accounting-related systems and process improvements

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Willingness to commute daily to our office in Amstelveen- this is a fully on-site role.
  • Applicants must have the right to work in the Netherlands; visa sponsorship is not available.
  • Solid accounting knowledge, including familiarity with IFRS, Dutch GAAP, or UK GAAP.
  • Minimum of two years' experience in accounting, auditing, or related fields.
  • Strong Excel skills.
  • Fluent in English; proficiency in Mandarin is a plus.
  • Basic understanding of EU VAT regulations and corporate income tax.
  • Quick learner with the ability to interpret new financial regulations and apply them in practice.
  • Team player with an open, collaborative mindset and a willingness to share knowledge.
  • Hands-on and proactive attitude.
