Position Overview
The sustainability driven Emission and Weight Control Engineer will be responsible for calculating the of Scope 3 upstream carbon footprint associated with engineering part such as materials and equipment and managing the weight control studies and center of gravity.

This role shall ensure that the carbon emission impacts on weights and weight management of offshore modules meet project and client requirements, international standards, Company specifications.

The candidate will play a vital part in capturing the environmental impact of topsides modules and should have a strong background in weight management specific to offshore engineering and be proficient in coordinating with various engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a carbon inventory for engineering parts (scope 3 upstream material and equipment)
• Analyze weights to identify carbon intensive parts
• Administrate the database for carbon footprint emission factors
• Prepare and issue project-specific weight control report and procedure and material specific sustainability score cards
• Manage weight control processes throughout the lifecycle of offshore projects, from conceptual design to final installation and ensure historical follow-up
• Produce accurate weight records and documentation in compliance with international offshore standards and client specifications.
• Review and verify weight data from suppliers and subcontractors.
• Perform back-up of input data to guarantee traceability of the data throughout the project lifecycle.
• Provide regular updates and reports on weight control progress and emission targets to project management and engineering teams.
• Interface with various departments to optimize weight distribution and support company-wide Scope 3 emission reporting.
• Collaborate closely with design, structural, and installation teams to ensure that weight targets and limitations are adhered to.
• Identify and propose weight-saving opportunities and support internal automation initiatives to lower carbon footprint for topsides module designs.
• Contribute to the development of internal standards, tools, and best practices for carbon footprint.
• Assist in preparation and execution of inclining test for floater (FPSO, FLNG, FPU, etc).
• Provide weighing report after weighing along with carbon footprint data for internal stakeholders and for regulatory disclosures.
• Support fabrication team in providing weight related to Lifting, Load-out, Float on/off, Transportation and Float-over.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering.
• Mechanical, Environmental, Structural, Naval Architecture or related field.
• Minimum 2-5 years of experience in weight control for offshore projects with added experience in mission assessment.
• Strong knowledge of Scope 3 emissions categories.
• Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with weight tracking databases and sustainability regulations.
• Experience using weight control software preferred.
• Proficiency in engineering software such as AutoCAD, AVEVA Marine, PDMS, etc.
• Good understanding of offshore structure, construction processes, and weight management principles.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
• Fluent in English (Both spoken and written)
