Interim Accounting & Tax Manager – Amsterdam

CLIENT

Linum Consult's client is a major international company works within the energy sector. They are seeking an interim Accounting & Tax Manager for 3 months or more, to be based in their office in Amsterdam, Netherlands.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Developing and maintaining accounting and administrative policies, processes, and systems in line with the company's standards, and in close compliance to relevant laws, regulations, and accounting standards
  • Managing all aspects of accounting; including but not limited to accounts payable, accounts receivable, banks, payroll, inventory, fixed assets
  • Maintaining General Ledger accounts, ensuring proper and accurate journal entry preparation
  • Establishing and maintaining a robust compliance framework, as well as maintaining and upgrading key business controls
  • Preparing statutory financial statements and related disclosures, and procuring timely filing to satisfy local compliance requirements
  • Preparing financial statements and related disclosures under IFRS for the company's consolidation purposes
  • Providing support and coordinating management responses to Internal Audit
  • Preparing and reviewing tax calculations, estimates and reports
  • Ensuring a robust tax compliance framework and timely filing of all corporate tax returns

PROFILE

  • Degree qualification in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration, preferably with an MBA or master's in Finance. Professional qualification such as CFA, CMA, CA, or ACCA
  • At least 8-10 years' experience in accounting and tax, with 1-2 years in a managerial role
  • Must have worked in a sector with common international holdings and international structures, or a Dutch-based company with several subsidiaries overseas carrying out cross-border transactions
  • Very strong understanding of Dutch GAAP, Dutch Tax, Dutch VAT, IFRS
  • Previous experience of market-leading ERP systems, Financial Management and consolidation systems (Oracle preferably)
  • Big4 experience in the field of Audit, Tax, and Assurance would be advantageous
  • Fluent in English, with at least B1 level Dutch language skills or extensive experience of working in the Netherlands
  • Immediate availability for a short-term contract
