2026 Global Finance Internship

Internships: Internship / Fixed term for up to 6 months ( / Full-time (40 hours per week)

Location: GPI is based in the Netherlands. To comply with Dutch laws and regulations, GPI can only accept candidates that have a Dutch social security number (BSN) or can obtain it at short notice (EU and Swiss nationals could be possible - although this is highly situation-dependent). The Global Finance unit of Greenpeace International is seeking 2 interns for 2026 (one to start in January 2026 and the other to start in June The Global Finance Team seeks the financial sustainability of the Greenpeace movement. By supporting financial reporting processes, you'll contribute to the financial health of Greenpeace International while gaining hands-on experience in global finance.

As the Global Finance Intern, you will be a key support for the Global Finance team, focusing on delivering accurate and timely financial reports and data analysis. We are looking for candidates with exceptional analytical skills, initiative and passion for the numbers to drive impactful change together.

The Global Finance Internship is a full-time position (40 hours per week) for a period of six months. We will select interns for two starting dates either mid January 2026 or mid June 2026. Interns receive 800 euros NET as a monthly stipend. As of the time of this advert, our office in Amsterdam is open and the internship can be a combination of virtual and in-person from the GPI office.

In this role you will:

• Financial Reporting Assistance:

• Building and developing templates for key financial documents, such as the Combined quarterly financial statement, Combined year-end pack, Cashflow submission, and Budgeting.

• Supporting the consolidation of financial data from global entities.
• Ensuring compliance with internal controls and company policies in reporting processes.

• Reporting Process Support & Analysis:

• Helping to analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and potential areas for improvement.

• Assisting in the maintenance of financial reporting templates and dashboards.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to gather data and insights for ad-hoc reports.
• Documentation:

Ensure all processes related to NRO reporting are documented.
- Reporting Development:

Build, develop, and deliver essential templates for key reports, including the Combined Quarterly Financial Statement, Year-End Pack, Cashflow submissions, and Budgeting documents.
- Ad-Hoc Support:

Assist with the maintenance of reporting dashboards and collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather data for urgent, ad-hoc reports and special projects.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:

• A university degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.

• Strong analytical skills and excellent attention to detail.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• A basic understanding of financial statements and accounting principles.
• Excellent and fluent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
• A strong eagerness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced, global setting.
• Familiarity with financial software and digital literacy skills; the ability to learn and utilise our digital platforms to successfully perform the role function (familiarity with G-Suite, Slack and Zoom is an advantage)
• Demonstrable support for and belief in the Greenpeace network core aims and values.
