What You'll Do As Lead Engineer
As Lead Engineer you'll be the compass for your multidisciplinary product team. You'll work closely with the (Group) Product Manager to ensure feasibility during discovery phases and collaborate with other Lead Engineers on cross-team architecture and technical decisions. You will collaborate closely with your Engineering Manager to optimize team performance, drive technical decision-making, and design effective solutions.

As part of the Fraud and Risk department, you'll play a critical role in safeguarding our platform against financial crime. Our team specializes in Customer Due Diligence (CDD), ensuring compliance with regulatory standards while proactively identifying and mitigating risks related to identity fraud, money laundering, and other financial threats. You'll collaborate closely with data analysts, compliance officers, and product teams to develop and refine risk models, automate detection workflows, and enhance our customer onboarding processes with a risk-first mindset.

Responsibilities
You'll be the guardian of code quality, the architect of elegant solutions, and the bridge between your team's work and our broader enterprise architecture. While you won't manage the team directly, you'll lead by example, actively contributing to the codebase and making key technical decisions – tough calls galore You'll be crucial in maintaining the health of our systems, continuously improving solutions, and ensuring that every product we build is not just functional, but exceptional. Additionally, you'll be the first point of contact for technical matters, translating complex concepts for non-technical stakeholders when needed. Key responsibilities include:

• Leading daily engineering efforts for your product team
• Designing solutions that neatly align with our enterprise architecture
• Ensuring technical and architectural health of team solutions
• Making and overseeing technical decisions within the team
• Guarding code quality and feasibility in product discovery
• Actively contributing to the team's codebase
• Serving as the technical liaison for your team

Qualifications
Key qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in software development in complex, fast-paced environments.
• 3+ years of experience lead teams of 5-9 engineers in building scalable, high-performance solutions.
• Strong architectural and solution design skills aligned with enterprise architecture.
• Pragmatic, results-driven leadership focused on delivery and technical integrity.
• Collaborative team player who empowers engineers while making critical decisions.
• Active contributor to the codebase, ensuring code quality and innovative solutions.
• Excellent communicator, effectively coordinating with other teams, Engineering Managers, Product Managers and stakeholders.
