About us

Ascending AI is a stealth-mode AI startup supporting safe and efficient AI. Our mission is to facilitate technology that respects human autonomy, preserves meaningful choices and protects long-term goals. We create systems that enhance rather than replace human decision-making. The company is funded with EUR 5m in cash from the founders who have had multiple successful exits in cloud computing and cybersecurity.

What we are building

Our first product will be the communication, which helps people manage, understand and improve how they connect with others. It maps your social network, provides insight into your communication patterns, and helps you make more intentional choices in your relationships. This is our first product. Where we're headed

This is the first step toward something bigger. We believe AI should work for people, not shape them. Our long-term goal is the Guardian Agent. We believed that in a world where AI is becoming increasingly persuasive and ambient, ther is a need for an intelligent system that helps people live in alignment with their values and long-term goals. The guardian agent will protect autonomy, filter out digital noise, and strengthen decision-making. We are ready to move quickly in order to implement our vision

Job requirements

We are looking for a full-stack engineer with a strong builder mindset. A hacker type who teaches themselves new tools fast and thrives in unfamiliar territory. You are highly motivated to work with AI and new technologies, and have already started exploring technologies such as RAG, MCP, open weights models, and agentic workflows on your own time.

You will:

  • Work directly with the founders to build and ship the first product.
  • Touch everything from API integration and UI to LLM services and data pipelines.
  • Learn fast, work fast, and be trusted with real ownership from day one.
  • Prototype new ideas and features in a live, experimental environment.
  • Help lay the technical foundation for the systems that come next.

This is a remote or hybrid role. We work primarily in the Central European time zone and expect candidates to be within +/- 3 hours of CET. At this stage, close alignment matters - so occasional early mornings or late evenings may be needed to sync with the team

It might be a fit if you:

  • Have around 2 to 4 years of experience as a developer.
  • Are comfortable working across backend and frontend.
  • Already tinkering with new tools, models and frameworks for fun.
  • Want to build products with depth, not just surface.
  • Prefer to ship and learn rather than perfect and wait.
  • Are excited by the opportunity to work in a small, focused team on something ambitious.
