Senior Financial Controller Northern Europe

We are looking for an eager, senior financial controller who wants join Rituals in their exciting, challenging journey to become - and remain - the number one global luxury brand in cosmetics.

As a Senior Financial Controller of Northern Europe Region you will focus on our Nordic entities. You will be responsible for the financial month-end procedures in close collaboration with the Junior Financial Controller Nordics and accounting assistants who execute most of the journal entries, while taking ownership of the more complex analysis yourself. You will be responsible for the preparation of (local) statutory statements, the tax compliance (CIT + VAT and other) and other finance-related issues (e.g. POS compliance). Furthermore you will participate in Financial Control process improvement projects often in close collaboration with other departments within the company. You report into the Head of Financial Northern Europe. The Financial Control Northern Europe team consists of 5 persons including your manager and yourself. The Northern Europe region is an exciting mature region at this moment and consists of Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg, United Kingdom, Ireland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland.

Being in close contact with local staff while doing the analytical review of the P&L and balance sheet, you also investigate variances and validate the numbers. It is your responsibility to deep dive into variances and ad hoc issues as your input is being used in the monthly and quarterly reporting and business reviews with (local) management.

High on energy, low on ego and with a little bit of humour. In addition, you are an ambitious, eager and talented financial. You thrive in a corporate, international setting and you are a team player. On top of this, you have:

• At least 5 years of work experience as a (senior) financial controller or as an (external) auditor.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, Swedish is a plus.
• Eligible to work in The Netherlands (working permit).
• A HBO/WO degree in accounting or finance.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Grounded, approachable personality.
• Critical yet constructive and positive approach.

You will spend most of your time at our Amsterdam Central Head Office. We hope you can appreciate the view of one of the most iconic Amsterdam canals.
