Intern Data Management

The Data Management team at FMO is looking to hire two interns, one for the Data Governance domain and one for Data Quality. Curious to learn and experience a dynamic international environment within the development finance and impact banking sectors? Come join us

Your role
As part of your internship, you will be involved in a variety of Data Management activities, with a focus on Data Quality or Data Governance. This means that you will support processes to improve the definition and quality of FMO's data such as solving data issues and monitoring data quality, as well as the implementation of initiatives to improve FMO's data management activities.

In addition, you will support compliance with and continuous improvement of FMO's Data Management Policy and Framework in line with FMO's strategy and industry best practices. You will collaborate with Data Quality Officers, Data Governance Officers, and Data Stewards across FMO and will gain first-hand knowledge and experience on data management.

The team
Data Management is FMO's center of excellence on data related topics. We are a very dynamic team who covers the end-to-end data management areas from Data Architecture, Governance and Quality. We are very passionate about data; we challenge the status quo across the organization and constantly work towards developing ourselves both personally and professionally.

Quality data and information are key to FMO for reasons of decision making, analysis, compliance, stakeholders reporting, growth and efficiency, and foremost for enabling FMO to increase and measure its development impact.

The Data Management team is playing a key role in managing FMO data as a business asset and achieving a consistent and uniform view of information based on quality data.

Your background

• Currently enrolled at a Dutch university for either bachelor's or master's degree (preferably in Business Administration, Information Management, Economics, Mathematics, Data Science and Analytics, or related field);
• Have a strong affinity with data and be at least familiar with data management concepts
• High degree of curiosity and patience
• Affinity with the values and mission of FMO
• Great attention to detail and analytical thinking
• Proactivity and willingness to contribute
• Proficient in English.

To ensure that you are eligible for an internship at FMO, please confirm in the cover letter that you are:

• available for ideally 5-6 months, for 3-4 days per week starting in early 2026
• available for hybrid working, you will be present in the office at least 2 days per week
• already residing in the Netherlands
• enrolled at university for the entire internship period
• receiving internship credits as part of the study curriculum if you are a non-EU citizen

What We Offer

• An internship allowance of 750 euros (based on a full-time, 40 hours/week scheduled, pro-rated on working hours/week)
