IT Operations Position – Facility Engineer

Job Responsibilities

  • Perform 5×8 IDC (Internet Data Center) on-site operational duties per client requirements; respond promptly to incidents outside regular hours following IT Operations Incident Management Guidelines.
  • Update and maintain infrastructure documentation with 100% accuracy; regularly verify platform alarm configurations and monitor system availability and stability.
  • Conduct facility inspections in accordance with Alibaba's IDC standards, including facility status checks, maintenance/repair MOP (Method of Procedure) review, and follow-up actions.
  • Respond rapidly to incidents per EOP (Emergency Operation Procedure), ensure timely resolution, and submit incident reports as required.
  • Possess solid understanding of IDC infrastructure systems—including power supply, HVAC, and low-voltage systems—enabling quick fault diagnosis and service restoration.
  • Demonstrate knowledge in infrastructure monitoring, capacity, security, and availability management to enhance operational efficiency and reliability.
  • Independently prepare and execute change MOPs, ensuring zero incidents caused by operational changes.
  • Complete other duties as specified in the Service Contract, Outsourcing Requirement Specification, and related attachments.

Educational Background

  • Degree: Associate degree (or higher) in a full-time program.
  • Major: Electrical Engineering, HVAC, or related disciplines.

Work Experience

  • Industry Experience: Minimum 1 year in IDC or related technical operations.
  • Skills: Familiar with infrastructure systems and IDC operational processes.

Core Competencies

  • Communication: Clear, logical, and professional verbal/written communication; attentive listening.
  • Collaboration: Strong teamwork across multiple departments, including remote, cross-language, and cross-regional coordination.
  • Management: Proficient in English communication, meeting coordination, and scheduling of facility maintenance and repairs.
  • Languages: Local language + English, or Local language + Chinese.
