Commercial Business Controller

Following a strategic merger in 2023, Landal has entered an exciting phase of integration and professionalization. The focus is on harmonizing systems and processes, strengthening data-driven management, and accelerating international growth and brand positioning. The organization is undergoing a significant transformation: processes are being standardized, and data-driven decision-making is becoming an integral part of the way we work. To support this development, we are expanding our Finance team in Amsterdam and are looking for several Business Control professionals to join us on this journey.

As a Commercial Business Controller, you will be a key financial partner for our commercial teams, providing insights and analyses that drive value across channels and customer segments. Your main responsibility is to support performance management by delivering detailed financial analyses and strategic recommendations that help our parks reach their full potential. You will work closely with multiple departments, including Operations, Formula Management, Revenue Management, and the Financial Shared Service Center (FSSC) to ensure a cohesive and data-driven approach to commercial performance. In addition, you will play a crucial role in developing business cases that inform strategic decisions and support long-term growth. Success in this role requires going beyond the numbers: spending time on site to understand daily challenges and opportunities ensures your financial strategies are practical, impactful, and aligned with business realities.

Our Business Control team consists of 11 driven professionals who work every day to improve the financial steering within our organization. What defines us? You'll have the opportunity to actively contribute to this transformation. Different team members focus on various parts of the organization, such as Operations, Commerce, Data, and Capex. In this role, you'll collaborate closely with another Business Controller focused on Offices.

What will you do:

As a Business Controller Commercial, you will analyze financial results and key performance indicators to create a clear picture of park and formula performance. You will provide actionable recommendations to drive both financial and operational improvement. Working closely with the operations business control team, you will contribute to achieving company objectives and optimizing commercial performance. Key responsibilities include:

• Budgeting and Forecasting: Lead the development and management of budgets and forecasts for parks, areas, and organizational formulas, ensuring alignment with strategic goals;
• Financial Reporting: Prepare, review, and interpret monthly financial reports, providing insights to support informed decision-making;
• Business Case Development: Create comprehensive business cases for new initiatives, investments, and operational improvements, supporting strategic decision-making;
• Performance Analysis: Monitor and analyze KPIs and financial results to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement;
• Operational Collaboration: Work closely with commercial and operational teams to ensure financial strategies are practical and aligned with on-the-ground realities; regularly visit parks to gain first-hand insights;
• Advisory Role: Act as a trusted financial partner, influencing commercial teams and management to make data-driven decisions that enhance value and profitability.

In this role, you report to the Operations Finance Manager. Your workplace will be our new office in Amsterdam. Working from home is an option, but we also expect you to work from the office or parks three days per week to foster collaboration.

This is you:

You are an analytical and strategic thinker who turns complex data into clear, actionable insights. You thrive on collaborating across teams, influencing decisions, and driving continuous improvement.

You: - Hold a degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field; Have 3–6 years of experience in a financial or business controlling role, preferably with a commercial focus; Possess strong analytical skills, including the ability to perform root-cause analyses and identify opportunities for improvement; Are experienced in budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting, with a track record of delivering actionable insights; Are proficient in financial tools, ERP systems, and Excel; experience with data visualization tools like Power BI is a plus; Have excellent communication skills in English and can present complex ideas clearly; proficiency in Dutch is preferred; Are able to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders at all levels; Are willing to travel to parks, with occasional overnight stays, to gain first-hand operational insight.

• An annual contract with a trial period of one month, whereby we would of course ultimately be happy to employ you permanently.
• A salary between €5.733 and €8.190
• A bonus scheme.
• 27 days' holiday for a full-time working week* with the option to purchase 10 additional days off.

• Working from home allowance of €2,40 per home working day.
• A travel allowance in accordance with the Landal travel allowance scheme based on €0,23 cents per km. If you decide to travel by public transport, your travel costs will be 100% reimbursed.

• Participation in the Recreation pension fund. The standard retirement date in this scheme is 67 years. The premium for this old-age pension is 21.8% of the pension basis, with Landal and you each paying half.

• A full-time employment contract at Landal has a 38-hour working week, which is equivalent to a 5-day working week. If you have a part-time employment contract, your salary and vacation days are calculated pro rata.
