THE POSITION
You will join the production team, where the atmosphere is open, informal and based on teamwork. As a
Senior Production Engineer
, you design and develop technologically complex dredging projects, from beach nourishments to large-scale reclamations and capital works worldwide. Your work combines analytical skill and creativity, driving Van Oord's innovative edge.

You support our commercial and project teams during both tender and execution phases. Starting with analysing tender documents, you develop cost-efficient production methods using your knowledge of soils, equipment and work methods. The results feed into client proposals, and once awarded, you see your concepts brought to life on real projects

YOUR IMPACT
As a
Senior Production Engineer
, you are responsible for developing production calculations and work methods for new projects, focusing on cost efficiency and delivering robust, competitive solutions. You translate technical challenges into efficient, innovative approaches that strengthen Van Oord's global performance. Combining analytical insight, practical know-how and teamwork, you help optimise operations and inspire continuous improvement across teams. Below is a summary of your main tasks and responsibilities

• Determine the most cost-efficient combination of equipment and logistical paths
• Visit projects to advise teams on maintaining or increasing production performance
• Review and approve work of junior Production Engineers
• Act as the go-to production specialist for Maintenance projects
• Contribute to technical training for crew and staff at our simulator training centre

Your workplace
You will be part of the
Product Line Maintenance
within the Tendering & Engineering department, the technical backbone of Van Oord. This team focuses on international maintenance dredging projects such as waterway and beach maintenance. We combine deep technical expertise with close collaboration across disciplines to deliver high-quality, value-driven tenders. About You
You have the desire and interest in further developing yourself into an all-round sparring partner for Tender- and Project Managers, Engineers and vessel crew. With your communication skills you know how to adapt your communication style for different types of colleagues. You have strong analytical skills, a creative and solution driven approach and the ability to keep 'the big picture' in mind and think ahead. In addition, you bring the following to the table

• A Bachelor's degree preferably in civil engineering in combination with several dredging courses;
• At least 10 years of experience in execution and/or tendering of international dredging projects;
• strong interest in mechanical systems;
• a genuine (tender) teamplayer, but also able to work independent;
• an investigative, creative and flexible work approach;
• experience with estimation and preparation of dredging works is a plus;
• excellent command of the English language;
• prepared to work on projects around the globe.
