Job Overview

As
Global Forwarding Director
, you will lead Samskip's international forwarding operations across ocean, air, and multimodal logistics. You will shape strategy, drive growth, and champion digital transformation to deliver exceptional customer experiences worldwide.

Key Responsibilities

Lead Strategy & Growth

  • Define and execute Samskip's global forwarding strategy aligned with corporate objectives.
  • Expand service offerings and identify new market opportunities.
  • Drive profitable growth across the Samskip Logistics network
  • Have full responsibility for the financial improvement of Samskip Logistics results

Drive Operational Excellence

  • Oversee global forwarding operations, ensuring compliance with international trade regulations.
  • Optimize processes for cost efficiency and service quality.

Champion Digitalization

  • Implement innovative solutions for real-time visibility and analytics.

Build Strong Partnerships

  • Develop relationships with carriers, agents, business partners and key customers to strengthen Samskip's global network.

Lead & Inspire Teams

  • Manage and mentor a global team, foster collaboration and accountability.
  • Provide visible leadership to all colleagues within Samskip Logistics
  • Represent Samskip Logistics within the samskip group senior leadership team
  • Develop positive and constructive collaboration with the management board and key stakeholders within and across the Samskip Multimodal network.
  • Actively identify opportunities for cross selling with Samskip Multimodal

Qualifications

  • Education:
    Bachelor's or Master's in Logistics, Supply Chain, or Business Administration.

Experience:

  • 10+ years in international freight forwarding, with 5+ years in senior leadership.
  • Expertise in freight forwarding.

Skills:

  • Strategic thinker with strong commercial acumen.
  • Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
  • Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.
