Assignment Description

As an SAP Technical Designer, you'll collaborate with other IT designers, internal SAP specialists, and external partners. You'll combine your design role with hands-on technical design work, playing a key role in the creation of the new S/4HANA environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Developing technical designs for SAP S/4HANA, SAP BTP, and related components, within the framework of the IT domain designs.
  • Developing the ICT technical non-functional acceptance criteria and setting up the acceptance process, and going through the various POCs and acceptance moments.
  • Drafting technical designs (HLD/LLD) and translating design principles into concrete construction instructions.
  • Contribute to the design of SAP landscapes and supervise technical implementations.
  • Advising enterprise and domain designers on migration steps and solution options.
  • Active stakeholder management towards engineers (construction teams) and functional stakeholders (business).

Background Assignment

  • DUO is currently undergoing a major migration program to switch from SAP ECC to SAP S/4HANA. This program involves consolidating four separate SAP infrastructures into a single, unified infrastructure using a greenfield approach. A fifth SAP environment will be migrated via a brownfield migration. Furthermore, the current IBMi platform will be replaced with a virtual platform based on Intel hardware. Integration Suite will also be implemented on BTP.
  • To successfully complete this complex transition, DUO is seeking an SAP Technical Architect who will not only provide high-level advice but also be actively involved in the technical design, implementation, and support of implementations.

Requirements

To Demand:

  • Minimum HBO working and thinking level.
  • At least 3 years of experience as a Technical Architect in complex IT environments.
  • At least 5 years of demonstrable experience with SAP S/4HANA and relevant SAP components (such as BTP, Fiori, PI/PO, BW).
  • Demonstrable knowledge of IT infrastructures (cloud, on-prem, hybrid).
  • Experience with greenfield and brownfield migrations.
  • Experience with IT design methodologies and translating these into technical designs.
  • Experience with security and authorization concepts within S/4HANA.

Wishes

  • Experience with Agile working methods in an infrastructure or SAP environment.
  • Strong communication skills: you can clearly explain technical choices to both engineers and business stakeholders.
  • Experience in preparing detailed technical designs and construction specifications.
  • Certification in TOGAF and/or Archimate is a plus.
  • An affinity with DevOps and CI/CD in combination with SAP implementations is an advantage.
