Room Mate Hotels ) is a Spanish hotel chain that has 2 hotels in the Netherlands (Amsterdam and Rotterdam), as well as hotels in major European cities. We believe that staying with a friend is the best way to travel and we want our guests to feel the same. We are growing fast, and will soon have a presence in most major cities.

Room Mate Aitana opened its door in august 2013 and counts 285 spacious, bright and luxurious rooms, meetings rooms, a ballroom, a gym, Lounge, a marina and host a restaurant with Spanish and mediterranean food in a modern jacket.

Currently Room Mate Aitana is looking for an enthusiastic Reservations Agent to handle all incoming reservations and takes care that we provide the best possible service to our guests.

The Reservation Agent is responsible for all reservations that come in through the various channels, such as online, groups and direct bookings. As every guest has different wishes and needs, we believe that being able to offer personal and tailor-made service is highly important. Therefore, a reservation agent must provide an excellent service and influence the guest decision to stay at the property.

About this position

You will work on weekdays during office hours and you will be part of the Reservations team. We like our team to be flexible and supportive with each other. This also means you will learn a lot about the various roles throughout the hotel.

Your main tasks will be:

  • Taking and confirm individual and small group reservations by phone and email and via various booking channels.
  • Handling larger group bookings, including sending quotes, offers and handling payments.
  • Checking and amending incoming reservations
  • Handling No-Show's and late cancellations
  • Coordinate guest requests with other departments
  • Replying to guest questions via e-mails and requests via booking platforms
  • Assisting the Banquet sales team with their event requests where needed
  • Coordinate guest requests with other departments

We would like you to have the following profile:

  • Some prior knowledge about hotel reservations please, either from a similar position or for example from a Front Office job
  • Language skills: English is a must, a good knowledge of Dutch is really useful, and a 3rd language is a bonus.
  • The ability to communicate with people from all over the world and the ability to smile on the phone
  • Good computer skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Knowledge of Opera PMS is highly preferred
  • Have EU nationality or Dutch residence and work permit
  • Live in Amsterdam or the direct vicinity
