REMIT Compliance Officer – Energy Markets

A fast-growing European energy flexibility platform is looking for a
REMIT Compliance Officer
to ensure that trading and operational activities meet all applicable regulatory requirements across the regions we operate.

This is a
foundational role
offering the opportunity to
build and implement a robust compliance framework
from the ground up, working closely with
Trading, Operations, Risk, Legal, and Tech teams
.

Key responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with
    REMIT II, MiFID II, EMIR
    , and other relevant regulations
  • Maintain accurate registrations with
    ACER, Nord Pool, and TSOs
  • Implement and monitor
    compliance controls, trade surveillance, and reporting processes
  • Advise on regulatory considerations for
    new markets, products, and cross-border operations
  • Support audits, regulatory inquiries, and interactions with external authorities
  • Develop, update, and enforce
    compliance policies, training programs, and governance standards

Skills and Experience Required

  • 3+ years' experience in
    energy trading compliance
  • Strong understanding of
    BESS operations and European short-term power markets
    (DA, ID, FCR, aFRR/mFRR, BRP imbalance)
  • Regulatory fluency in
    REMIT II, MiFID II Article 17 & RTS 6, EMIR trade reporting
  • Experience with
    trade surveillance tools and compliance monitoring systems
  • Proven ability to
    challenge traders and leadership constructively

Nice to have:
Nordic market / Nord Pool experience, algorithmic trading compliance, fluency in Swedish or Finnish
