Main focus

We are seeking an experienced
Head of Information & Cyber Security, Europe
to provide strategic vision, governance, and leadership for the regional information security function across multiple European entities. This is a high-impact, pan-European leadership role based near Amsterdam, responsible for building a robust, risk-driven, and compliant security posture while ensuring alignment with global standards and executive expectations.

Role Context

The organisation is establishing a new regional Information Security function that will support all group companies across Europe. Though initially compact ultimately a team of three the role is strategic.

You will report directly to a senior IT/Security leader based internationally, with a dotted-line relationship to the organisation's global Information Security Headquarters. The organisation is currently implementing
NIS2
and strengthening its security governance framework with support from an external consulting firm. Your responsibility is to translate this framework into
practical, consistent implementation
across diverse European operations.

What We're Looking For

We are seeking a leader with experience in
FMCG, production, manufacturing, logistics, consumer electronics
, or similarly operational environments with strong risk management foundations.

Candidates whose background is primarily in
banking or insurance
highly conceptual and over-regulated domains, will not be the best fit for this practical, execution-driven culture.

What we ask you to do

• Shape, drive, and oversee the regional roadmap for
  NIS2 compliance
  and broader security governance
• Implement security policies, standards, and controls across European subsidiaries
• Translate strategy and frameworks (designed with external advisors and global HQ) into
  real-world execution
• Ensure alignment with global policies, constraints, and corporate direction
• Build and maintain a unified, resilient security posture across the region
• Develop and drive the regional information security vision and long-term strategy
• Lead regulatory and risk management initiatives (GDPR, NIS2, etc.)
• Oversee incident response, escalation, and post-incident analysis
• Serve as the regional representative to global security leadership
• Set KPIs and drive continuous performance improvement
• Lead, mentor, and develop a small but high-impact regional security team

This is a role for someone who excels at
implementation
, cross-cultural collaboration, and rolling out governance structures across a multinational environment. You will help build a new function.

What we hope to find back

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field
• 10+ years of experience in information/cyber security, including senior leadership roles in international organisations
• Recognized certifications (CISSP, CISM, CISA) preferred
• Strong understanding of risk management, regulatory requirements, and security governance
• Proven experience with incident management and executive stakeholder engagement
• Experience working in or with structured, methodical, cross-cultural organisations
• Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills in English
• Need be a resident for the region already
• No "new" visa sponsorship possible
