About REEFolution Foundation:

REEFolution Foundation is dedicated to protecting, restoring and adapting coral reefs by working closely with local communities. With coral reefs facing critical threats, our mission is to foster marine conservation, enhance biodiversity, and support livelihoods. Since 2016, we have collaborated with Wageningen University and local partners in Kenya to restore reefs in the Shimoni region. We are now looking for a Netherlands-based intern to help strengthen our fundraising team and global impact.

As our Fundraising and Business Development Intern, your responsibilities include:

• Coral Restoration Funding Market Research:

Conduct in-depth research to analyze trends, challenges, and opportunities in coral restoration and marine conservation funding. Gather data, review literature, and synthesize findings to support strategic fundraising planning.
- Fundraising & Partnerships:

Assist in preparing and drafting project proposals, coordinating with team members, and refining documents to meet donor requirements. Support the team in fundraising efforts and help manage relationships with small partners.
- Operational Support:

Assist in day-to-day operational activities including overseeing collaborations, managing communications, and maintaining donor relationships. Strong organizational skills will help you efficiently handle multiple tasks.
- Additional Responsibilities:

Take on extra tasks based on REEFolution's needs and your skills and interests, ensuring a flexible learning experience throughout the internship.

We are looking for someone who:

• Is based in the Netherlands.
• Is enthusiastic about conservation, with a background in a relevant field of study such as social sciences, environmental sciences, economics, sales or other related fields.
• Has an interest in NGOs and experience or curiosity about fundraising, marketing, and project management.
• Works accurately and has a good eye for detail.
• Is fluent in English (Dutch is a plus but not required).
• Is a good communicator, organized, and enjoys working as part of an international team.
• Can adapt to a flexible and dynamic work environment, supporting a range of tasks and responsibilities.

As our Social Media & Communications Intern, you will:

• Manage and update REEFolution's website, ensuring content is engaging and up to date.
• Oversee and create content for REEFolution's social media platforms (Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, etc.).
• Support the development of an awareness campaign to expand REEFolution's visibility.
• Assist in writing and editing newsletters for our community, including supporting our Kenyan team.
• Gain hands-on experience in graphic design, with room to develop skills in Canva and/or Adobe CC.
• Collaborate with external partners and assist in shaping content strategies.

This internship offers the chance to contribute creative ideas, take on real responsibilities, and gain practical experience in an international NGO.

We are looking for an intern who:

• Is based in the Netherlands.
• Is a motivated and creative 3rd or 4th-year student, or recent graduate in a relevant field (Marketing, Design, or similar).
• Has a passion for marine conservation and wants to contribute to a growing NGO.
• Has a strong affinity for digital communications and social media management.
• Works accurately and has a good eye for detail.
• Is fluent in English (Dutch is a plus but not required).
• Is eager to learn and take initiative in a hands-on internship.
• Has experience with Canva and/or Adobe CC (preferred but not required).
