Job Description
  • You will work with Java-based technologies (Spring and Hibernate) to further develop the backend of the application.
  • You write high quality code, understand how different modules interact, and contribute to maintaining an excellent user experience.
  • You have a passion for product development and the drive to play a defining role in the success of the product.
  • You are comfortable working for several years on a legacy product with proven though not cutting edge technologies in a complex domain.
  • You learn and understand logistics processes combined with customs and excise regulations.

You are part of the dynamic and multicultural Digital team within our Global Trade Advisory department. Together with roughly 30 colleagues, you contribute to essential services for leading multinationals. At Deloitte, you will have plenty of opportunities to grow, share ideas, and make an impact in an innovative and international work environment. You work flexibly and hybrid: at least two days per week at our modern office "The Edge" in Amsterdam.

You need the following qualifications for the position of Backend Software Engineer:

  • A completed bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science or a similar field.
  • At least 5 years of work experience as a Java software engineer.
  • Experience with the following languages, frameworks, and techniques: Java, Spring, Hibernate, MS SQL Server.
  • A positive attitude and a passion for your field.
  • Understanding of the Agile/Scrum methodology.
  • Excellent command of the English language; Dutch is a plus.

As a Backend Software Engineer, you play a crucial role in the development and maintenance of TrackonTrade, an innovative customs-compliance solution. With TrackonTrade, we help leading multinationals automate their logistics processes and comply with complex customs legislation. You will work with Java technologies and frameworks within an experienced, multidisciplinary, and passionate team, and you are essential to the success of complex projects.

You contribute to the growing success of the TrackonTrade legacy, which consists of highly customer-focused, tailor-made implementations, while other parts of the team work on developing a completely new TrackonTrade SaaS solution.
