Are you the engineer who has not only mastered high-voltage DC systems but has also pioneered the transition away from SF6? We are looking for a rare expert to be a founding member of a new European R&D Centre in Arnhem.

This isn't just another R&D role. This is your chance to shape the future of HVDC technology from the ground up. You will be the technical cornerstone of a new 10-person team, owning the research, design, and validation of next-generation circuit breakers and gas-insulated systems. You'll collaborate directly with our global HQ in Korea and key certification partners at KEMA/DNV in Arnhem.

What you will build and own:

  • Pioneering SF6-Free Technology:
    You will lead the development and validation of SF6-free solutions (O2/CO2, C4-FN), translating complex simulations (COMSOL, PSCAD, MATLAB/Simulink) into certified, grid-ready hardware for systems at 420 kV and above.
  • A World-Class R&D Hub:
    You will be instrumental in building the Arnhem team, mentoring junior engineers, and establishing the technical roadmap for our European operations.
  • Bridging Theory and Practice:
    You will manage the entire lifecycle from multi-physics simulations of arc behaviour to hands-on lab testing and type-testing according to IEC standards.

This challenge is for you if you have:

  • An MSc or PhD in Electrical Engineering with proven experience in HVDC systems and high-voltage switchgear or circuit breakers.
  • Hands-on experience with arc-quenching technologies and a deep understanding of SF6-alternatives for GIS.
  • A strong background in power-system modelling and simulation.
  • Familiarity with European (specifically KEMA/IEC) testing and certification workflows.
