Electrical Engineering Technical Authority / LeadFull-time • AlkmaarWhat will you doThe Electrical Engineering TA / Lead reports to the Engineering Manager, leads a small team of electrical engineers, and works closely with the Projects, Maintenance, and Operations teams.The Electrical Engineering TA / Lead ensures that the operation, maintenance and configuration of installed electrical equipment is safe, compliant, and optimised. They focus on the long-term operability and maintainability of installed equipment and drive project work to enhance asset performance.The main work location is the Alkmaar office. The position requires visits to the onshore facilities in Noord Holland and offshore installations in the Dutch North Sea.ResponsibilitiesTechnical Authority for the Electrical Engineering DisciplineAccountable for defining the performance standards for all Safety and Environmentally Critical Elements (SECEs), ensuring compliance, and approving deviations in the event of performance standard failureDefines the maintenance requirements for electrical systems and equipmentEnsures industry standards and relevant legislation are met or exceededKeeps up to date with latest changes in legislation and industry standards and ensures that the changes are incorporated in inspection and maintenance programsTakes the lead in resolving non-routine problems related to electrical systems and equipmentPerforms root cause analyses of system failuresWorks in collaboration with the Installatie Verantwoordelijke (IV) to ensure: electrical equipment is adequately specified, installed and safe to operate, operational risk assessments adequately consider electrical hazards, government regulators are satisfied compliance is achievedAccountable for maintaining the integrity of electrical documentationEngineering LeadCoordinates the electrical engineering team, ensuring work is prioritized and progressed with appropriate timing and qualityManages the approved discipline budget and inputs to project planningProvides direction, engineering support or advises on modifications, improvements and new projectsProvides field presence during installation and commissioning activities, supervising engineering & installation contractors, offering coaching and assuring qualityIndependently manages selected electrical-related projectsSets the electrical engineering design standards for TAQA NL, including Maintaining the Hazardous Area memorandum, schedule and drawings, Specifying engineering documentation requirements; scopes of work, datasheets, drawings, design calculation methodology, Specifying commissioning protocols, Reviews and approves electrical documents and drawings, created internally or externallyParticipates in study work, including feasibility, FEED and detailed designManages third-party engineering vendorsMonitors compliance with standards and proceduresWhat we search for in youWe're happy to hear from professionals with a bachelor's/master's degree in electrical engineering and at least ten years of experience in electrical engineering, preferably in the following fields: Low Voltage and High Voltage systems, Electrical drive systems, Electrical equipment in explosive atmospheres (ATEX) and knowledge of relevant electrical and instrument standards. In this role you'll require both Dutch and English language skills.We'd also like to see as many of the following skills on your CV:Client-side experience on operational facilities (onshore or offshore)Hands-on field experience diagnosing and resolving equipment failuresAbility to make authoritative technical decisions and clearly justify them to managementStrong situational awareness of facility status and operational prioritiesEffective prioritization and progression of HSE, Operations, and Project-related tasksProven leadership and mentoring skills for developing junior engineersUnderstanding of engineering contracts, procurement processes, and project proceduresProficiency in electrical diagnostics and measurement techniques, including interpretation of results (e.g. partial discharge testing, insulation resistance, thermography)Ability to work effectively in multi-disciplinary project teamsStrong communication and stakeholder engagement skillsBOSIET and VCA Vol trainingExperience with safety-related reviews like HAZOP, SILExperience with project engineering / project managementFull-time positionWillingness to travel offshore and to remote sites as requiredEligibility to work in the NetherlandsLiving in the NetherlandsEven if you do not see yourself reflected in all the skills required, we still encourage you to apply.
