Groningen Groningen, GR, Nederland BookSwap Global Op afstand Voltijd
Help us build Groningen’s student book-sharing community. BookSwap is a free app for discovering, sharing and swapping books with people nearby — no buying, no shipping. Just books moving between people instead of sitting unused on a shelf. BookSwap is a product of Nimoh Digital Solutions, and we’re looking for students from the University of Groningen (RUG) and Hanze University of Applied Sciences to become our first BookSwap Student Ambassadors in Groningen. This is a one-semester, unpaid ambassador role, requiring approximately 2 hours per week, with a remote/hybrid setup.
- You don’t need marketing experience or a large social-media following. We’re looking for students with a genuine interest in books, community or sustainability — and the initiative to try ideas, talk to people and help us learn what works. What you do
- Raise awareness of BookSwap among students at RUG and Hanze.
- Introduce students and student communities to the BookSwap app.
- Encourage new users to download the app and list their first book.
- Connect with relevant student associations, events, noticeboards and communities.
- Come up with your own campaign and activity ideas — we want your perspective on what students actually respond to.
- Talk to students and share feedback with us about what’s working, what isn’t and what we could improve.
- Experiment with different ways of growing the BookSwap community.
- Join a short team check-in approximately once every two weeks. What you'll get This is an opportunity to gain hands-on experience working with an early-stage digital product and helping build a community from the ground up. You’ll receive:
- Practical experience in community building, grassroots marketing and communication.
- The official title BookSwap Student Ambassador – Groningen.
- The opportunity to develop and run your own ideas and campaigns.
- A genuine say in how BookSwap develops its student community.
- Experience working directly with the team behind BookSwap.
- A completion certificate at the end of the programme.
- A professional reference or LinkedIn recommendation where your contribution and performance support one.
- A small team of fellow ambassadors to build the Groningen community with. Who we're looking for You should be:
- Currently studying at RUG or Hanze.
- Connected to student life in Groningen in some way.
- Interested in books, community and/or sustainability.
- Comfortable talking to people and introducing them to something new.
- Reliable and able to commit approximately 2 hours per week during the semester.
- Curious and willing to experiment with ideas — including ideas that might not work the first time.
- You don’t need previous marketing or ambassador experience. About the product BookSwap helps people discover books available around them and connect with others who want to share or swap books. Instead of buying another book or leaving finished books unused on a shelf, BookSwap helps books move through local communities and find their next reader. We’re currently building our community across the Netherlands and beyond, and Groningen will be the first city where we’re building a dedicated student ambassador community.
