/p h3Joining Capgemini's Hardware team /h3 pYou will be joining a team of passionate engineers working at the cutting edge of high-tech mechanical design. Based in Eindhoven and embedded in a world-leading OEM environment, this role is suited to a driven, experienced engineer who is ready to take full ownership of their work and take the next step towards a Lead Engineer position. /p h3Your role /h3 pAs a bSenior Mechanical Design Engineer /b, you are responsible for delivering mechanical design solutions throughout the entire product lifecycle, from concept development and detailed design to release, implementation, and continuous product support. /p pbKey responsibilities include: /b /p ul liExecute mechanical design activities based on project scope or backlog, translating requirements into practical engineering solutions. /li liDevelop concept, preliminary, and detailed designs using CAD tools, preferably Siemens NX. /li liPerform feasibility studies and trade‑off analyses, and define mechanical components, tools, and systems while balancing functionality, manufacturability, safety, cost, and lead time. /li liCreate and maintain 3D models, engineering drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), and Technical Product Documentation (TPD) for manufacturing, assembly, testing, transport, and maintenance. /li liManage engineering data and implement design changes using PLM/PDM systems such as Teamcenter and SAP, ensuring traceability and adherence to change management processes. /li liPerform tolerance analyses (GDT), mechanical calculations, risk assessments, and design verification activities. /li liSupport products throughout the full lifecycle, from concept and realization to continuous improvement, ensuring technical quality and compliance with engineering standards. /li liIdentify technical risks, dependencies, and interface issues, driving mitigation actions where required. /li liLead and contribute to design reviews, technical discussions, and alignment sessions, while collaborating closely with Lead Engineers, Project Managers, suppliers, and multidisciplinary teams. /li liReview engineering work, provide constructive feedback, and support less experienced engineers through technical guidance and mentorship. /li liFacilitate knowledge sharing, contribute to improving engineering methods and team ways of working, and take ownership of specific technical topics or work packages. /li /ul h3Your profile /h3 pWe are looking for a mechanically skilled, hands‑on, and proactive engineer who thrives in a dynamic high‑tech environment and enjoys taking ownership from concept through delivery. You are adaptable across different project types, reliable in execution, and capable of driving work independently while collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary teams. /p pbEducation Experience /b /p ul liBachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Physics, or a related field, with at least 5 years of experience in mechanical design and development within a high‑tech environment. /li liProven experience working in multidisciplinary project teams and delivering high-quality design work independently, with a strong sense of ownership and accountability. /li /ul pbTechnical Expertise /b /p ul liHands‑on experience with CAD tools, preferably Siemens NX, and PLM/PDM systems such as Teamcenter or SAP. /li liStrong knowledge of mechanical design principles, system integration, GDT, tolerance analysis, manufacturing processes, material selection, and engineering standards. /li liExperience with design for manufacturability, industrialisation, mechanical calculations including strength, kinematics, and basic FEM, technical documentation, change management, design verification, testing, validation, risk assessments, and FMEA. /li liAble to translate requirements into practical design concepts and resolve complex or conflicting technical requirements. /li /ul pbPersonal Competencies /b /p ul liStrong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with a structured approach to organising and executing work. /li liAble to balance attention to technical detail with maintaining an overall project perspective. /li liProactive, ownership‑driven, and comfortable making decisions in a dynamic environment. /li liExcellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across disciplines and influence decisions without
