Feeding Specialist Farm Management Support

The Farm Management Support (FMS) department is tasked with supporting and advising dairy farmers in all kinds of fields, related to Lely products and business operations in general.
As a Feeding Specialist within FMS, you will help us develop tools, knowledge and service products to support our advisors in the field in their role. You know your way around the dairy farm, you understand better than anyone what a farmer experiences and what he or she faces. You know how to convert this knowledge into practical processes that help us with the further development of our feeding robot and software. As a specialist, you train our advisors so that they can provide the best advice using our state-of-the-art automatic feeding solutions, such as the Lely Vector and the Lely Calm.
Your responsibilities:
- In this role you ensure that the end user can make optimal use of the automatic feeding system. You have direct contact with the specialists in the field and sometimes also with the livestock farmer. You ensure that the international specialists have all the knowledge and skills to optimally support a livestock farmer. You do this by creating and providing training on topics such as (cow health, grazing and feed management in combination with the feeding robot).
- You have knowledge of cattle nutrition and mixing feed from your previous work experience. You use this knowledge to give our customer advisor the right tools to provide (potential) customers with the right information.
- Develop and support tools and services that our Farm Management Support (FMS) advisors can use in the field in their daily work.
You create the training courses, provide the train-the-trainer training to our customer advisors around the world and ensure that you collect sufficient information to develop new trainings that meets the needs that customers have.
Qualifications
You preferably have experience as a consultant in dairy farming and/or have knowledge of and affinity with cattle nutrition. Further:
- Bachelor's or master's degree in the agricultural sector, preferably in Dronten, Leeuwarden, Wageningen, Den Bosch or a (technical) education with otherwise acquired practical knowledge of (dairy) livestock farming.
- Willingness to travel internationally for up to 20% of your working time
- Preferably you have acquired knowledge and experience in international livestock farming or you are prepared to take this step.
- You are currently living in the Netherlands with a valid work permit and have a good command of the Dutch and English language.
